Q: Can we upload/download licensed anime?
A: No. Any anime that is licensed in North America is not permitted in the library. Any licensed files that are uploaded to the library will be deleted immediately.
Q: What can I do with files downloaded from the VML?
A: Redistribution is okay and also encouraged, that is until the anime is licensed. Once a title is licensed, we request that you cease distributing any of the related files immediately. Also distro'ing any fansub for profit is illegal.
Q: How should I name the files that I upload?
A: please use the following standard naming convention:
-create a directory with the artist or series name (if there is not one already!)
-all lower case
-title only
-separate multiple words with underscoresexample: The MP3 for Shoujo Kakumei Utena's Dance Wheel Revolution will go in the Shoujo Kakumei Utena directory as dance_wheel_revolution.mp3
Q: What do you do with duplicate folders or titles?
A: To conserve space, all duplicates found of anime or music will be deleted.
Q: Can I download multiple files?
A: No. You must only download one file at a time. Visitors caught hammering will be banned for an unspecified amount of time. Files from the members download section should not be downloaded while you are visiting the library, either.
Q: What about uploading?
A: Please do not upload multiple files simultaneously. However you can upload and download one file simultaneously if you choose.
Q: So I shouldn't use a Download Manager program, right?
A: Actually, we encourage the use of download manager programs such as GetRight, Gozilla, CuteFTP, and Netvampire. Especially since you might need to resume your download of a file if you are unexpectedly disconnected.
Q: How do I upload?
A: You will need to use an FTP uploading program. I recommend CuteFTP.
